We love the semi-new Guardians of the Galaxy—Mission: Breakout ride at Disney’s California Adventure. My kids didn’t like it, wouldn’t ride it, when it was themed to Tower of Terror. I think it was the name. And the creepy setting. And probably the fact that the storyline revolves around five people dying on an elevator and then coming back to haunt you as ghosts when you ride an elevator. However, now they love it because, while it’s the same ride system, there are quirky aliens and a fun, Earth-born super hero demigod calling the shots.
Ask for Row 1 or Row 6
The quick tip here is that when you do get your kids to ride it, make sure you ask the Cast Member for Row 1 or 6. Row 1 seats three across, and Row 6 seats four, so plan accordingly. You want to sit there so that your kids will be seen in the ride photo. As you can see below, it took us a few tries before we caught on to the get-the-kids-up-front idea.
Worth the Wait
You might have to wait for the next elevator, but it’ll only be a couple of extra minutes. If the picture is not important to you, then carry on and sit anywhere the Cast Member directs you. However, with the advent of MaxPass, there’s no reason you shouldn’t get your ride photos for as little as $15 per day!
