Southwest Sale: This Is Getting To Be A Regular Thing On Tuesdays

138/365

I should make this a regular Tuesday post because Southwest is at it again with another sale starting today. I checked my reservation coming up in less than 30 days, and was able to rebook for 2300 fewer points!

Book By February 21

Unlike last week, this sale is over a week long, so it starts today and goes through next Thursday, February 21. This sale covers the same basic dates as the last one, so through May 22, but check the exclusions.

Lower Your Price

Even if you’ve already booked your flight, you can lower your price even further. No joke, I have a leg of a trip that I’ve rebooked now three times, each one for less and less points. I always book one way legs so that I can rebook the one way and not worry if the other leg has dropped or not. In this case, I booked my departure at the lowest possible price apparently, because it’s never dropped, but the arrival has now dropped three times. I assume I would have to rebook the first leg in order to get the savings on the second, but then I may not be able to save overall. Book one way only!

Rebooking Is Easy!

Southwest makes it super simple to change your flight if a new lower price comes out, or if you want to jockey to a better time or even day. Simply log in to your account and click on the flight you want to change. You will see a change button. Select the flight and passengers you want to change and voila! You’re rebooked!

Flying Is Easy!

With Southwest, it’s so easy to fly. You get two checked bags, and their change rules are the best in the business, both of which are unheard of in this day and age of slapping a fee on everything. I even prefer their style of boarding over assigned seats since they allow families with small children to board between A and B groups, and we can always find a row together toward the back. Between those reasons and their low fares and miles values, we almost always fly Southwest.
