Day 11/365
Disney new streaming service doesn’t start until November 12, 2019, but they are ramping up the excitement with offers left and right. Plus, you can browse the expected list of shows and movies right now. My family is definitely going to need more couch time come November!
Offer for Fans of Disney Parks
An ad targeted to Fans of Disney Parks and Experiences has been going around on Facebook with a similar offer that was emailed to Disney Destinations subscribers and Disney Visa cardholders. While they are not offering the $20 off a 2-year subscription deal, you can still get $40 off a 3-year subscription. The Disney Visa cardholder offer has expired; the Disney Destinations offer is good until October 11, 2019, but there is no expiration date listed for the Fans of Disney Parks and Experiences offer. It just states: For a limited time only on the ad itself. Click here for the offer. I love that it’s still dubbed “Founder’s Circle”.
Browse the Selections
Right now, you can head here to browse the expected shows and movies that Disney+ will be streaming come November. They are testing the platform in the Netherlands, so it may not be exactly the same, but I doubt if there will be much difference. You can also read this article with an in-depth look at all of the new content Disney is planning to bring to the service, along with Bob Iger’s promise to open the Disney Vault and stream every past title at some point in the near future.
Say “Goodbye” to DVD Sales
I’ve been unconsciously holding off on buying Avengers: Endgame, and I think it’s because I know that it will be available on Disney+ sooner or later. As a matter of fact, we won’t have to buy another Disney, Pixar, Marvel, or Star Wars movie on DVD again, although I wonder if bonus content will be available on Disney+ like it is on Amazon Video. I guess we will have to wait and see. That alone might be the only reason to buy a movie in the future.
So Excited
There are so many things to get excited about here. I can’t wait to show my kids the movies of my childhood: Escape to Witch Mountain, the Apple Dumpling Gang, Bedknobs & Broomsticks, The Black Hole, and Willow, just to name a few. (I’m seriously dating myself here). I’m sure everyone has their own era of nostalgia. If you want to relive the good old days, you can change the release date sliders on the Just Watch website to reveal your Disney childhood. Okay, excuse me while I go make a schedule of our movie nights starting on November 12!
